Rock Cottage Churchtown St Issey Cornwall PL27 7QB

Rock Cottage is in the perfect location for exploring Padstow, Port Isaac and the stunning North Cornwall beaches – just a short drive from the “7 bays for 7 days” famous wide stretching sandy beaches between Trevone and Porthcothan. St Issey village is a charming and peaceful village with 2 pubs, a playpark and plenty of public footpaths to explore. You’ll find Rock Cottage in a quiet side lane in an area known as “Churchtown”.

The much loved walking and cycling “Camel Trail” is just a 2 mile walk/cycle from the cottage. Why not get your walking boots on and walk to Padstow? There is a frequent bus service (11A) if you don’t fancy the walk home again.

You can also walk to the lesser known Saints Way walking trail which crosses from the North to the South Coast. Or why not explore South West Coast Path? Lots of walking to explore.

Bikes are available to hire locally or bring your own and store them in our bike shed.

Have you ever used “what3words”? Its a location website that takes you direct when maps or street addresses are not accurate.

Here is our link https://w3w.co/clerk.zapped.posed on the link you’ll find easy links to find driving directions from your location.

Take care when following sat navs or google maps to make sure you have the correct Rock Cottage! If you see instructions involving “St Jidgy” then that is not us. There are another two Rock Cottages in neighbouring villages. If you find yourself near the Ring O’Bells pub then you’re in the right place!

Just a short 2 mile or so drive from the main road A39.

Depending on which way you come, the drive is easy from the A38 at Plymouth via The Tamar Bridge (tolls apply) or via the A30 from Exeter (leading to the M5).

You might find it helpful to stop off for groceries en route as St Issey does not have a shop (eggs and milk can be bought direct from the Farmer!). Main supermarkets can be found at Padstow and Wadebridge (M&S Simply Food, Tesco and Aldi, 5 minute drive) or Bodmin (Morrisons, Lidl etc 10-15 minute drive). Or why not get a grocery delivery direct to the cottage?

Rock Cottage is just a stone’s throw from the locally renowned and much loved Ring O’Bells Pub serving great home-cooked food and a wide variety of traditional pub food. Dog friendly!

St Issey is also home to the lovely Pickwick Inn and Restaurant, if you are looking for fine dining with a stunning view then this is the place to book! Just a 10 minute picturesque walk from Rock Cottage. The menu here is incredible and lovely roast dinners on a Sunday too.

In the village you’ll also find a children’s play park which is extremely well equipped and popular with all ages. Immediately opposite the playpark is a football pitch, ideal for a kick about in the fresh air.

Need to post your postcards? You’ll find a post box 1 minute walk up by the junction onto the main road opposite the Ring O’Bells.
